Introducing Leaf Ties. Possibly the coolest reimagining of a boring product I have come across. It suddenly has made the zap strap ‘want-worthy’. Each pack of Leaf ties contains 12 beautifully designed straps, some with one leaf and some with two.

These not only feel great, but they also do an excellent job at organizing cables and look great while doing it.

I was really surprised (and happy) to find that the best HDMI cables weren’t always the most expensive ones. It’s interesting to find that the results of an HDMI cable when made properly, no matter what the brand name is, actually have similar results.

Basing the results on quality, I found a discount cable that competes with top brand premium cables like Monster Cables and Panasonic Cables. A company called ‘Optimized Cable Company‘ at Optimization World offers cables for a fraction of the cost. They boast about their products being made to the highest quality. And they are right. And I found out with some digging that the cables produced for them are HDMI Certified at the same facility as Monster Cables. Hooray!

I’ve always been a pretty uber fan of organizing my things and being a total neat freak. I do afterall still have my original nintendo games in coloured plastic cases – alphabetized.

The Trickle Star is expected to come out in January 2009. Here’s how it works:

Basically what that means is, you plug it into your computer and it does everything for you.

The Checktap is pretty cool, here’s how it works:

The power strip connects to your computer via USB and software allows you to adjust the power savings to your needs. The software provides feedback on how much power you are saving and a virtual tree grows based on the carbon dioxide you don’t dump into the environment to give you a visual image of how good you are doing. The CheckTap is not clear on what exactly it does be it simply giving you a visual representation of how much power you are using or if it is actually able to turn itself off when you turn off your computer.
