Okay, it’s not really magic. I did some reasearch and here’s how Dr Hot Bags work:

Each pack contains sodium acetate and water. Sodium acetate is very good at supercooling. It “freezes” at 130 degrees F or 54 degrees C, but it is happy to exist as a liquid at a much lower temperature and is extremely stable. Clicking the disk, has the ability to force a few molecules to flip to the solid state, and the rest of the liquid then rushes to solidify as well. The temperature of the solidifying liquid jumps up to 130 degrees F or 54 degrees C in the process.

When you boil the solid you melt it back to the liquid state. You have to completely melt every crystal or the liquid will quickly re-solidify. You can repeat this cycle thousands of times, just as you can freeze and melt water as many times as you like.

Now that IS amazing. Science!

If you are anything like me you probably hate ceiling fans. Well I did, until I saw this great invention.

Fanaway Ceiling Fans are designed to retract so they look sleek, contemporary, stay dust-free and most importantly, don’t look like a ceiling fan at all.

When the fan is turned on, the spinning motion brings the blades out using centrifugal force. It works like any other ceiling fan, but looks way cooler doing it.

Awhile ago we checked out the Pickmaster, a plectrum punch available in the UK. Recently however, we discovered the original Pick Punch that was invented years prior to the Pickmaster. The original Pick Punch was created by inventor Von Luhmann in the United States and it’s one of the most unique inventions we’ve reviewed here on One More Gadget.

The Pick Punch is very well made and very well designed. It’s a heavy duty product made to punch several guitar picks without putting too much stress on your hands. One thing I noticed was how easily it pops the guitar picks out giving them a nice crisp edge.
