There are two types of springs in the Octaspring Evolution Plus. There are 18 interior springs that are slightly softer for comfort. The springs provide a type of ‘push back’ support that regular memory foam cannot achieve. Usually you just sink it and stay there with regular memory foam, but not on these. After trying this pillow I found it’s characteristics were much that of a latex pillow, however it was cooler throughout the night and very breathable. Octaspring’s pillows and mattresses are 7x and 9x more breathable, respectively, than traditional memory foam products.
In the pillow there are also 12 firmer springs near the edges that provide more support to keep your neck aligned with your spine. As a stomach sleeper this took a night of getting used to, but I found sleeping on my side was comfortable to the point where I didn’t turn as much as I normally would during the night.
