Save up to 70% on electricity bills with these great power saving gadgets

The Trickle Star and the CheckTap. Both claim to be the first of their kind in taking power saving to a whole new level.

The Trickle Star is expected to come out in January 2009. Here’s how it works:

When the PC is switched off, the TrickleStar’s current sensing circuitry will cut power to the peripherals. Conversely, when a PC is powered on, the accessory devices will be switched back on.

Basically what that means is, you plug it into your computer and it does everything for you.

According to International Energy Agency (IEA), standby power costs U.S. $4 billion annually. So having this device will cut it by about 12%.

The Checktap is pretty cool, here’s how it works:

The power strip connects to your computer via USB and software allows you to adjust the power savings to your needs. The software provides feedback on how much power you are saving and a virtual tree grows based on the carbon dioxide you don’t dump into the environment to give you a visual image of how good you are doing. The CheckTap is not clear on what exactly it does be it simply giving you a visual representation of how much power you are using or if it is actually able to turn itself off when you turn off your computer.

Either way, these both save you energy and money.

Herman Miller “Embody” Chair is the ultamite chair

No, this chair doesn’t have a beer holder or a remote, but it’s certainly the ultamite chair. With a price tag of $1600 you pretty much can buy yourself comfort for the rest of your life.

You know it, I know it, we basically spend our whole lives sitting on our asses anyways, we might as well do it in style.

Oh yah, did I mention it was orange? Cause it is and that makes it even more awesome. The Embody is a one up on the old Aeron in a huge way.

The Embody is a huge improvement over the Aeron. A series of complex mesh layers provide ample cushioning. The gridlock maze-like feature on the back is more than just an aesthetic design decision. With a twist of a knob, they tighten or loosen providing the perfect amount of support. The arm rests slide up and down. The seat slides forward for those with longer limbs. Height and drop tension are ingenuously controlled by a knob/joystick combo. The Aeron had multiple switches and knobs to manipulate a partial list of features the Embody possesses. The new control system helps maintain the Embody’s sleek profile by consolidating all those controls.

Enjoy your iPod while sitting on the toilet

The iPoo

The new iPoo is really gross. I mean the new iCarta is really gross. It has stereo speakers for you to plug in your iPod, iPhone or whatever iProduct you have. If you really really really need to be surfing the web, listening to your music or just fiddling with something while you take a deuce (or a bath I suppose), then this might be for you. I guess it makes sense right? We do spend about 1/3 of our lifetime in the bathroom. I also know that I spend 1/3 of my life in traffic. Now, the real genius would be trying to come up with an idea to combine those two.

But anyways, I digress. In case you do get this product I have some song recommendations for you while you sit on your throne:

In the heat of the moment.
In the air tonight – Phill Collins
Push it – Salt n’ Peppa
No Air – Jordin Sparks

You get the picture.

Heat your pocket to 1300 degrees with this pocket Jet 1300-C Butane Lighter

picture-3

Even though this little pocket blow torch has a:
– Jet flame reaching 2372 ‘F (1300’C)
– Melts copper, glass, gold, silver, tin, and aluminum
– Safety cover opens only when torch is pressed/on
– Refills from standard butane lighter canister

I still say its just worth getting just for party tricks.

It also features a flame lock to keep the flame on as well as a child-lock to prevent the ignition button from being pressed. This is also a nut saver because honestly, I’d never want to put something capable of reaching scorching point that close to my nuts without some extra protection. If you know what I’m saying.
